Buffalo Niagara Partnership: Businesses Concerned About Healthcare Costs

February 15th, 2018

The Buffalo Niagara Partnership (BNP) is highlighting the ever-increasing cost of healthcare, which is one of their 2018 Advocacy Agenda priorities.

BNP points out the Governor’s Executive budget proposal includes several new taxes on healthcare, and that the state’s reliance on healthcare taxes is one of the main reasons New Yorkers pay some the highest healthcare premiums in the country.

New York State continues to push health care costs higher by taxing the very health care companies that are charged with providing quality health services to state residents. The result is all-too predictable — the availability of quality healthcare will decrease even as health care costs increase.

Unshackle Upstate will be joining with BNP in urging state lawmakers to provide relief from ever-increasing healthcare costs, not new taxes.
