Stand Up for Upstate Farms: Tell Commissioner Reardon to Stay At 60

September 19th, 2022

Given the size and importance of New York’s agriculture sector, you would think that the New York State Department of Labor would do a better job of letting New Yorkers know about the public comment period on the Farm Laborers Wage Board report. For unknown reasons, the Department of Labor hasn’t made a significant effort to encourage the public to read and comment on the report. Since the Department of Labor isn’t stepping up the to plate, we’re happy to do so.

You can view the Farm Laborers Wage Board flawed report here and view our statement about it here.

Upstate United encourages you to send comments about the report to Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon and tell her to keep the current farm labor overtime threshold at 60 hours.

Time is of the essence as the deadline for public comment in Monday, September 26.
