New Tax Foundation Report Shows Albany Must Focus on New York State’s Toxic Business Climate
October 17th, 2017
“New York’s abysmal ranking in the Tax Foundation’s 2018 State Business Tax Climate Index is extremely disappointing but not surprising.
For the last decade, New York has had one of the worst business tax climates in the nation. This is a sad status quo that sends an embarrassing and harmful message to businesses looking to bring jobs to New York. Additionally, hardworking residents – especially Upstate – will continue to flee the state in search economic of opportunity in other parts of the country.
Our leaders in Albany must step up, embrace and enact an aggressive agenda that reduces our tax burden, cuts regulatory red tape and promotes private sector job growth.
Until that happens, we’ll continue to be in the economic basement with New Jersey.”
