BNP Calls for Energy Infrastructure Improvements
March 19th, 2018
The Buffalo Niagara Partnership (BNP) is pushing for a much-needed upgrades to the state’s aging power grid and for developing the state’s natural gas transmission system as part of its 2018 Advocacy Agenda.
New York’s residential and commercial customers paid nearly 40% more than the national average for electricity in 2016, in part due to the failure to invest in the efficient and reliable natural gas transmission. Upgrading our natural gas transmission system will lead to investment and job creation, helping to support economic growth throughout Upstate.
The bottom line is that in order to attract new businesses and support our current job creators, we need to ensure that there is access to reliable and affordable energy.
