Upstate United: Another Pay Raise for State Officials? No, Thanks.

November 4th, 2024

The New York State Commission on Legislative, Judicial, & Executive Compensation is set to decide whether the officials should get raises, and if so, how much, or recommend no raises on November 15, 2024.

The following statement can be attributed to Justin Wilcox, Executive Director of Upstate United

“According to the National Conference of Legislatures, the New York State Legislature is the highest paid across the nation. Rank-and-file members have received a generous raise of more than $60,000 in the past seven years. However, in that same span of time, every day New Yorkers have not seen that kind of pay raise amid the relentless torrent of cost increases the Democrat-led Capital has foisted upon them.

“New Yorkers are tired of taking money from their pockets only for it to be spent on those who are taking the very votes making their lives more difficult and, ultimately, less affordable.”
