PIX 11 New York data center ban faces opposition: ‘Risking’ jobs

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – New York has become the first state to enact a moratorium on new data centers, and the decision is facing some pushback. 

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Tuesday announced a one-year ban on new “hyperscale” data centers statewide. The Upstate United, a coalition of businesses and trade organizations, is warning it could put New York at a disadvantage.
