Statement from Unshackle Upstate Regarding Call-In Scheduling Decision by New York State Department of Labor

“We thank the Department of Labor for its careful consideration of the serious concerns raised by employers about the Department’s call-in scheduling regulations. This one-size-fits-all approach would have hurt businesses – especially small businesses – that are already struggling to survive in New York’s harsh business climate. Now more than ever, our leaders in Albany should be focused on ways to help businesses grow and succeed. Making New York competitive with business-friendly states will be a long journey but today’s decision by the Department of Labor is a step in the right direction.
