Statement From Upstate United Regarding Governor Hochul’s Executive Budget Proposal

The following statement can be attributed to Justin Wilcox, executive director of Upstate United

“We were pleased that Governor Hochul’s 2024 Executive Budget presentation outlined several important investments, while also acknowledging the need for responsible spending in the coming year.

“While it was encouraging that financial fixes through new taxes or gimmicks were not on the agenda, it will be critical that the governor and her team hold the line throughout negotiations with the Legislature.

“As with any Executive Budget Proposal, the devil is in the details of this record-high financial plan and as the budget process enters its next steps, we look forward to advocating for initiatives that move our state forward rather than our people out.”
