Unshackle Upstate Statement Regarding New York State Legislative Elections

“On behalf of Unshackle Upstate, I would like to congratulate tonight’s election winners. We are especially proud to have supported Bob Antonacci and George Amedore and look forward to working with them in the coming months.

As we transition to the upcoming legislative session, our leaders in Albany must consider the significant challenges facing the Upstate New York economy. We are eager to work with Governor Andrew Cuomo, Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Speaker Carl Heastie to find pro-growth solutions that will strengthen communities across the state.

If our leaders in Albany believe in real progress, we must move forward together. The taxpayers of New York State cannot afford to have Albany turn back to the days of uncontrolled spending and massive tax hikes. We encourage Governor Cuomo and legislative leaders to reject measures that would hurt the struggling Upstate economy.”
