Upstate United Responds to Latest NYISO Report

“Today, the New York Independent System Operator’s (NYISO) released its 2023 Power Trends report. This year’s comprehensive, 46-page report accurately focuses on the importance of a balanced approach to a clean and reliable grid as New York policy continues to drive rapid change.

“NYISO’s report once again reaffirms our concerns with the impact that New York State’s climate goals will have on reliability margins of the grid. The findings also serve as a glaring reminder that we still do not have the technology necessary to meet the ambitious goals that have been set by state climate policies and push for a conversion to all-electric. Without a reliable and resilient grid, the safety and security of New York residents are at risk. State leaders cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the reality of this situation, and we ask that they recognize the looming consequences before it’s too late.”
