Upstate United Shares Concerns Over Revived Commitment to Tariffs

“Imposing double-digit tariffs on our state’s largest trading partner is incredibly misguided and will undoubtedly impact the prices of necessary goods purchased by New York residents. From everyday grocery items to those needed for large-scale projects or construction, New Yorkers should prepare to see already unaffordable prices continue to climb.

“We said it before and will say it again: these tariffs are no different from a tax increase on hard-working New Yorkers. The decision to move forward with such policies that will knowingly and intentionally penalize New Yorkers is beyond troubling.”
