Upstate United: UI Agreement is Major Victory for New York Businesses

“The Assembly and Governor’s agreement to pay off billions of dollars in pandemic-era Unemployment Insurance (UI) debt is a major victory for businesses and business owners statewide. For too long, businesses have struggled with labor shortages, supply chain issues, record-high inflation, and, most recently, navigating tariffs, among other costs passed down to employers and consumers.

“We appreciate that the calls of the business community have finally been heard, and that UI debt will be taken care of in this year’s budget once and for all.”
